Governor shifts Lake Cumberland and Dale Hollow money to horse park
ONLINE UPDATE-- Gov. Steve Beshear announced Friday that he would take nearly $29 million intended for the state park system and use it instead for improvements at the Kentucky Horse Park, which is host of the 2010 World Equestrian Games. Beshear pulled money that was intended to pay for improvements at at least 10 state parks. More than $15 million of that money would have been used for improvements at Dale Hollow Lake State Resort Park near Burkesville. Another $5 million would have been used to build a conference center at Lake Cumberland State Resort Park.
