ONLINE UPDATE - Feb. 1 JAMESTOWN - When a 6-year-old child didn't come home from school her mother drove to Jamestown Elementary in search of her daughter. The child was found in the parking lot, the driver is now looking for a job.
Lakers beaten at Greenwood by 30; RCMS split games
ONLINE UPDATE - Feb. 1 The Russell County Mighty Lakers were defeated Jan. 31 at Greenwood High in Bowling Green. The Lakers lost the game, 76-46. In JV action, the Lakers won by three, 40-37. In RCMS basketball action Jan. 31, the Laker 7th graders beat ClintonCounty 43-23 while he 8th grade Lakers lost 53-41.
Cumberland River receives extra trout to boost populations affected by water quality problems
ONLINE UPDATE - Feb 1 To help boost the trout populations in the lower section of the Cumberland River, the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife Resources stocked 13,250 brown trout into the tailwater this week. The bonus stocking is in addition to the 38,000 brown trout normally stocked in March.
