Bodies discovered by state troopers during manhunt
ONLINE UPDATE – 5:50 a.m. March 7 Kentucky State Police report finding the bodies of a husband and wife after a manhunt that began Thursday afternoon after troopers and a suspect engaged in a gun battle that left one Kentucky State Trooper hospitalized with a gunshot wound in his leg. They say it appears to have been a murder-suicide.
Trooper wounded — woman feared dead — manhunt for gunman along the Cumberland
On-line Update – 7 p.m. March 6, 2008 A dispute between a man and woman on Manntown Road near the Russell County line resulted in one Kentucky State Police Trooper being shot and reports are that the woman may have been killed. Russell County Deputies Lee Smith and Clete McAninch are part of the man-hunt which is underway.
Judge seals report pending review of motion to disqualify grand jury

The board met Monday night to discuss property appraisals for land on which the board wants to build the new Judicial Center.

Jamestown nails down hardware as new store opens at Bypass

Domestic altercation leads to assault, drug charges
In Mar. 6-12 issue JAMESTOWN - Police responded to an alleged assault Saturday morning on Pike Alley, where a domestic altercation had just occurred. Upon arriving at the home, Lt. Tracy Irvin of the JPD reported that she discovered Lyle Kent Wooldridge had been stabbed in the foot.
