The Russell County Lady Lakers won the 16th District Softball Championship on Thursday night, defeating Clinton County, 10-8, at Metcalfe County High School. The Lady Lakers rallied late in the game to secure the title. Megan Huckaby, Abbie Tarter, Lacy Holt, Hailey McBeath and Sarah McClure were all named All-District following the game. Russell County moves on to the 4th Region Tournament at Western Kentucky University next week. Drawings for tournament seedings is this Saturday. The 16th District Champs are coached by Trent Tarter, Shanna Tarter, Jerry Guffey and Angie Hadley.

Felicia Coffey and Megan Huckaby, off in style with an 8-4 victory over
Casey County last Friday in the last home game of the season.
