The other day I had a young person ask me, “What actually is Crusin, just riding around in a car?” It took me a while to think about my answer and I realized that over the years the work “Crusin” has changed its meaning for me.

Summer is here, and with the children out of school and vacations on the mind, why not stay close to home and enjoy some of the great event opportunities that Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery has to offer in July?

After months of planning and hard work, it was a day filled with fantastic fishing, smiling faces, jumping trout and memories to last a lifetime as Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery celebrated National Fishing and Boating Week with the 22nd Annual Catch a Rainbow Kids Fishing Derby.

In a partnering endeavor with the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection, Division for Air Quality (http://www.air.ky.gov), Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery helped to serve as the launching site for the newly developed “Clean Air for Kentucky” curriculum.

Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery will be hosting a meeting on Wednesday, August 6th, 2008 at 5pm CST to discuss the movement and importance of reconnecting children with nature, particularly in regards to health benefits. The meeting will take place in the Visitor/Environmental Education Center auditorium.
