Two arrested on animal cruelty charges

Two Jamestown residents were arrested Thursday and charged with second degree animal cruelty, according to Jamestown Police Sgt. Jeff Kerns.

Lakers, Lady Lakers defeat Metcalfe Co. on the road
ONLINE UPDATE-Feb. 6
The Russell County Lakers defeated the host Metcalfe County Hornets 63-46 Friday night in Edmonton. The district win gives the Lakers a 19-3 record on the year with a 5-1 district mark.
Meanwhile, in the night's first game, the Lady Lakers picked up a 10-point victory over the Lady Hornets, 41-31, giving them a 13-7 overall record and a 4-2 district mark.
