In April 9 Issue Coach Trent Tarter’s Lady Lakers picked up two wins last weekend in the 21st annual Lady Laker Classic at Lady Laker Field.
Russell County picked up victories over Wayne County, 13-12 in eight
innings, and Clinton County, 3-1, before falling to Marion County, 11-6.

Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery Partners With Local Health Coalition to Encourage Kids to Get Outside!
In partnership with the Russell County Physical Activity/Wellness/Diabetes Coalition, Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery and the Friends of Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery, Inc launched a new initiative designed to encourage children and their families to get active and get outdoors called “Let’s Go Outside!.” The program, which targeted 4th graders in the Russell County School System, kicked off Monday, March 30th, 2009 and concluded on Friday, April 24th, 2009.
