this weekend as Offshore Super Series Powerboat Racing Association
makes its Kentucky debut with the Lake Cumberland Grand Prix, May
15-17, at Halcomb's Landing adjacent to Wolf Creek Dam on US 127 just
south of Jamestown.

Big crowd for auditorium's first event
In May 14 Issue
The first-ever community event held in the new Russell County Schools’
Auditorium/ Natatorium Complex was a community prayer service that
coincided with the 58th annual National Day of Prayer, according to
Bro. Tony Stephens, minister at Jamestown Christian Church and a member
of the Russell County Ministerial Association, which organized the
event.

In May 14 Issue The simmering dispute between County Judge-Executive Mickey Garner and
Magistrate Greg Popplewell came briefly to the surface at this week's
fiscal court meeting, and Jamestown was criticized by members of the

The Lady Laker Tennis team will be traveling to Berea College this
Friday, May 15th, to begin play in the Girls 12th Region Tennis

Laker Boys tennis show improvement at regional
In May 14 Issue
The Boys 12th Region Tennis Title came down to the finals of the Boys
Singles as undefeated and No. 1 seed Kyle Jeffries of Casey County
faced No. 2 Seed Kyle Chadwick of Mercer Co. As the last day of
competition began, Casey and Mercer were tied for the team lead with 11
points apiece.
