Police and rescue workers on the scene worked to free Josh Bolin early Wednesday afternoon after the '94 Mercury Sable he was driving flipped over landing on its roof.
A passing motorist found the car upside down in the field beside Half Acre Road along Ky-619 and comforted Bolin while calling 9-1-1 for help.
Evidence at the scene pointed to Bolin’s car having left the roadway shortly after 3:30 that afternoon as he was driving east on 619. Sheriffs' Deputy Ron Ooten said the car hit a culvert, then the road intersection and became airborne.
Sale papers in the car indicated he had just purchased it the day before.
Bolin was extracted from the vehicle and treated by Russell County Ambulance Service workers until he could be transferred to an air-ambulance.His was taken to The U.K. Medical Center in Lexington, his condition is not yet available.
