Jamestown police arrest three on gun theft charges

JAMESTOWN - Three Russell Springs residents have been arrested in Jamestown, all as a result of a burglary investigation at the home of Randy Lawless reported to the department on Jan. 29, according to Sgt. Jeff Kerns, the Jamestown Police Department's news media director.
Kevin Lawless, 30, Vickie Clemons, 47, and Bobby Gene Flatt, 41 were all arrested last Wednesday by Sgt. Jeff Kerns and Lt. Tracy Irvin for burglarizing the residence at 135 Park Avenue.
Lawless is charged with 1st degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking over $300, tampering with physical evidence and four counts of theft by unlawful taking of a firearm, according to the department.
Clemons is charged with receiving stolen property-firearm and tampering with physical evidence while Flatt is charged with 1st degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking over $300, tampering with physical evidence, four counts of theft by unlawful taking of a firearm and four counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Three search warrants were executed Wednesday evening as part of the investigation, according to the department.
Sgt. Kerns said the investigation into this burglary is ongoing while more charges in the matter are pending.
All three individuals are lodged in the Russell County Jail with each having a $10,000 bond.
He reported that his department was assisted by officers from both the Russell County Sheriff's Department and the Russell Springs Police Department.
