In Feb. 21-27 Issue
The Russell County Lakers (9-13) traveled to Adair
County last Friday night to take on
the Indians, the 5th region’s top-ranked team.
The Indians proved their worth in the game, defeating the
Lakers decisively, 72-38.
Adair County
was led by Darren Ballou who scored 19 points for the 23-4 team from Columbia.
The Lakers were outscored in every quarter but did manage
for six Lakers to score in the game.
Laker leading scorer Bryon Ellis, a junior, had 17 points in
the victory for the Lakers while Robbie Bell had nine points. Adam Justice
scored four points for the Lakers while Bryson McFall and Timmy Coffey each had
three points apiece. Lucas Justice scored two points in the game.
