I'm sure most of us don't remember Dad getting the horse hooked up to the carriage so we could jump in and go for a ride, but we no doubt remember Dad pulling the choke, pushing the starter button and getting the car started so we could head out on an adventure in the family automobile.

Today as we look back it seems that the old cars have style and personality.

They don't all look alike like the cars of today and have beauty all their own. When we see one driving down the street we all stop and look at the Old Car, or Muscle Car from back then. It doesn't matter if it is original or modified, there is just something about an old car.

Russell County has several Car Clubs with folks who are just plain Car Crazy. There is "The Lake Cumberland Antique Car Club." This is one of the oldest car clubs in the County. Another Club is "The Old Boys Toys".

The Newest Club formed is "The Outsiders", all looking forward to another summer of Cruise Ins and Car Shows.

You will want to make plans to attend these shows and Cruise Ins this summer and enjoy these cars and the Memories they will bring back.

Each month we will be telling you about the different activities of the car clubs and upcoming events form all the clubs. There will be stories and pictures of some of the sharpest cars in the County and the people who own them and are restoring them.
