The RCHS baseball team continued their on-field dominance over opposing teams in the last week.

The Lakers took games from Cumberland, Washington and Wayne Counties as well as Southwestern with their only blemish being a 14-9 loss against Metcalfe County.

Against Cumberland, David Wooldridge got the win on the mound and provided his own run support, a 2-run homer, to beat the district foe, 2-0.

Against Washington County, the Lakers tallied 11 total hits and scored 11 runs to get an 11-8 win.

Adam Black got the victory for the Lakers.

Wooldridge had another big game, going 3-4 with a homerun and six RBI. Both Bryson McFall and Drew Richards went 2-4 and Brett Huddleston went 1-3 with a double.

Both Richards and Huddleston had RBI’s.

In the JV game against Washington, the Lakers won 6-1. Jordan Best picked up the victory. Jeremy Morgan, Chris Hammond and Best each had crucial hits in the victory.

Against the Warriors of Southwestern, Black picked up another victory as the Lakers won on Monday by a score of 10-3.

Derek Popplewell got the save.

At the plate, Wooldridge went 2-3 with a homerun and 3 RBI. The Laker JV also won 6-3 over the Warriors with Jared Coffey getting the victory.

Against Clinton County Tuesday night, Laker pitcher Kyle Roy tossed 15 strikeouts in a 4-2 victory over the district foe.

Roy has been a strikeout force all season for Russell County as the 6’4 southpaw has been an intimidating force from the mound.

The Laker JV also beat Clinton, 9-1. Congratulations to the Lakers and Coach Rexroat on a great week.
