In May 1-7 IssueBoth the Laker and Lady Laker programs had a rough go of things in the past week.
Since last Thursday the Lakers have gone 0-5 with losses to Cumberland County, Louisville Eastern, Henry Clay and Trinity.
The Lakers lost the final three in the Louisville Invitational Tournament 7-0, 15-5 and 11-1, respectively.
Laker pitchers Quinton Warriner, Kyle Roy and Brett Huddleston each took losses for Russell County.
On Tuesday night, Coach David Rexroat’s Lakers headed to Metcalfe County for a district matchup.
The Lakers would again come up short, losing 5-1. After a tough week the Lakers look to get back on track in the coming week and turn things around.
The Lady Lakers also had some trouble in the past weekend on the softball diamond.
Since last Thursday, the ladies have gone 0-4 with losses to Adair, Green and Clinton counties.
The losses were 13-3, 11-1 and 3-2, respectively.
On Tuesday, Coach Trent Tarter’s team played at Garrard County and was defeated handidly, 15-0. The ladies will have another week of tough games this week.
RCMS Recap
The RCMS 8th grade baseball team traveled to Taylor County and won by a score of 6-1on Monday.
Caleb Russell got the victory and Blake Aaron drove in three runs in the game.
On Tuesday, the 8th grade team defeated McCreary Central, 11-5. Tyler Robertson got the victory.
