The Russell County Laker baseball program has seen several new renovations around Laker field this spring.
A new sign, depicting the area as “Laker Country,” was donated by WJRS radio, 104.9 FM, and the area around the sign was landscaped by Lake Cumberland Lawn Service.
“We felt like this was a nice addition to put this out here to juice this part of the campus up,” said Darrell Selby, president of the Russell County baseball booster’s club.
The booster’s club funded whatever wasn’t donated to the sign and the area surrounding it.
Selby also wished to thank Anna’s Garden Center in Russell Springs for donating the plants around the sign.
He also said that Kenvie Reese and Shane Richardson with Lake Cumberland Lawn Service did a “super job,” of developing the area around the sign.
“We wanted a lasting landmark that in 10 years from now, someone will still be up-keeping this,” he said.
A new gate of entry onto the baseball field was donated by Stephen’s Pipe & Steel.
Michael Wells and Donnie Brockman also donated labor in the laying of a concrete block wall.
