In June 12-18 IssueBy Derek AaronTimes Journal Sports EditorLady Laker basketball coach Craig Pippen says he is pleased with the turnout for his second-ever Lady Laker Summer basketball camp.
Pippen said for this summer’s two camp sessions, 84 girls have attended. That’s up from 29 attendees last year.
“That’s a real good sign,” he said. “We’re getting more interest from the youth and that’s what I wanted to do when I got here.”
“We’re real happy with the turnout and everyone has enjoyed it,” Pippen said. He also said the camps gave him time to witness to the camp attendees. “That’s what it is all about.”
8th graders Julie Wethington and Regan Helm said the camp was getting them focused on the upcoming season.
