Lindsey Wilson rising juniors Krista Burton, a Jamestown native, and Jessica Smith advanced after wins Tuesday at the 82nd Women's Kentucky State Amateur Championship at Elizabethtown Country Club in Elizabethtown.
The pair qualified for the 32-woman championship flight after Monday's qualifying round over the 5,567-yard par 72 layout.
Burton, the 2006 State Am champion, shot the fifth best score in Monday's qualifier with a one-over par 73.
The Jamestown native is the tournament's sixth seed.
Smith shot a six-over par 78 on Monday and earned the No. 16 seed.
The Louisville native finished runner-up in the event to Burton in 2006.
Burton fell behind early and trailed 1-down to No. 27 seed Erin O'Connor heading into No. 9.
After piercing the fairway, Burton stuck her wedge to within six feet and birdied to get to all-square heading into the back nine.
The pair matched pars on No. 10 and 11.
On No. 12, Burton three-putted for a bogey on the 334-yard par 4 to fall to 1-down.
O'Connor returned the favor with a three-putt on No. 14 to square the match with four holes to play.
In a shot reminiscent to No. 9, Burton stuck a wedge to five feet on the 316-yard par 4 No. 15. But this time, Burton uncharacteristically missed the putt and the match remained all-square.
On the next hole, Burton made a clutch 10-footer for par on the 140-yard par 3.
O'Connor, who was short of the green and shipped to four feet, missed a ticklish downhill putt and Burton grabbed her first lead on the back nine.
The pair made pars coming home and Burton advanced with a 1-up win.
Burton faced No. 11 seed Laura McGehee at 10:37 a.m. on Wednesday but was too late for this edition.

The championship flight final is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. on Friday, June 27.
