Summer Day Camp holds ‘Olympics’ at RSES
In July 10-16 Issue
The Summer Day Camp at Russell Springs Elementary School held a version of the “Olympic” games last week.

The campers learned about health, nutrient, computer technology, arts and crafts, reading and math.

Students from kindergarten through sixth grade participated in events and were divided into two main groups: K-3 and 4-6 as they competed.

Camp workers include Julissa Carney, Rachel Johnson, Megan Blakey, Patricia Miller, David Miller, Christian Miller, Jade Brumley, Teresa Meyer, Sandy Aaron and Lisa Tarter.

Last Monday, the 100M run saw gold medals go to Roberto Gonzalez and Ryan Sciegaj, silver medals to Ben Cordero and Cameron Warren and bronze medals to Emma Wells and Natalie Phillips.

In the 200M run, gold went Clayton Loveless and Cameron Warren, silver went to Terrace West and Kameron Philips and bronze went to Roberto Gonzalez and Natalie Phillips.

In the shot put, gold went to Terrace West and Cameron Warren while silver went to Clayton Loveless andd Ryan Sciegaj and bronze went to Craig Loy and Kameron Phillips.

In the long jump, gold went to Roberto Gonzalez and Ryan Sciegaj while silver went to Grant Collins and Cameron Warren and bronze went to Julia Pemberton and Natalie Phillips.

Last Tuesday, the chariot race gold went to Wyatt Ryan and Ambria Hites, silver went to C.J. VonFumetti and Brooke Wilson and bronze went to Julia Pemberton and Ryan Sciegaj.

In the discus event, gold went to Jared Sanders and Ambria Hites while silver when to Makeena Wade and Brooke Wilson. Bronze went to Roberto Gonzalez and Ivon Lopez.

In the 400M run, gold went to Wyatt Ryan and Brooke Wilson, silver went to Seth Bennett and Ambria Hites while bronze went to Ashley Godsey and Laura Cordero.

In the javelin, gold went to Wyatt Ryan and Ryan Sciegaj while silver went to Chandler Sanders and Brooke Wilson. Bronze went to Ben Cordero and Cameron Warren.

In archery, gold went to Terrace West and Cameron Warren, silver went to Craig Loy and Ambria Hites, bronze went to Ashley Godsey and Ryan Sciegaj.

In hurdles, gold went to Jared Sanders and Brooke Wilson, silver went to C.J. VonFumetti and Ryan Sciegaj and bronze went to Elsa Lucas and Alexis Katon.

In the triple jump, gold went to Jovani Lucas and Brooke Wilson, silver went to Jared Sanders and Ryan Sciegaj and bronze went to Elsa Lucas and Ashley Godsey.

The marathon saw gold go to Jovani Lucas and Chandler Sanders and silver went to Joey Phillips and Ashley Godsey.

Bronze went to Jared Sanders and Seth Bennett.
