JAMESTOWN – The election race card is filled. Now only allocation of positions remain to be decided as the campaign season is about to enter the final stretch.
Candidates Danny Salazar, Lisa Mann, Darry McElroy, Ricky Barnes, David Blakey, Kenvie Reese, Lillard Pettyjohn and Denver Wilson are new to the race for office in Russell Springs’ new city council.
Running to retain positions in city government are Wayne Gaskins, Timmy Hudson, Richard Wooldridge and Ray Barrett. Running to return to service is Eric Selby.
Jamestown City Council members who are running for re-election are Larry Joe Murray, Harold “Frog” Miller, David Lawless, Marcelene Taylor and George Ralph Garr. Those applying to be elected to the council are Odell Polston, Terry Robertson, Linda Wright.
Seeking school board seats 1, 3 and 5 and running unopposed are incumbents Deborah Haynes and Wayne Gosser. Harry Kimbler is the incumbent for seat 5 and he is opposed by J.R. Simpson and Mary McDaniel.
The candidates for supervisors of the soil conservation district are Aubrey Johnson, Victor Cooper, Mark Antle and Scott Grider.
The 12th was the deadline to file and the 14th is the date for drawing ballot positions in the November election.
