Softball banquet held at Lakewood

The Russell County Lady Laker softball team held their annual awards banquet at the Lakewood Country Club swimming pool in July.

Although the season was filled with injuries, the Lady Lakers managed to win the 16th District softball tournament.

The Lady Lakers went on to play in the 4th Region tournament held at Western Kentucky University.

The team lost two seniors, Megan Huckaby and Felicia Coffey.

The following awards were given out: Most RBIs- Lacey Holt,

Highest Batting Average- Megan Huckaby, Coaches’Award- Hailey

McBeath, Defensive Award- Kyla Thomas and Most Improved-Taylor Irvin

Congrats to all these Lady Lakers and best of luck next season.
