WOLF CREEK NATIONAL FISH HATCHERY: Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery to Support Russell County Physical Activity/Wellness/Diabetes Coalition through Second Sunday Event
In partnership with the Russell County Physical Activity/Wellness/Diabetes Coalition, directed by Shirley Roberson, Health Educator with the Russell County Health Center, Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery is encouraging everyone to get outdoors and get active on Sunday, October 12th, 2008 as part of the first ever Second Sunday Event.
The event is designed to get Kentuckians in every county across the Commonwealth outdoors and more physically active. This challenge comes about as Kentucky is among the least healthy states in the U.S. Through the Second Sunday Event, Kentuckians will show they are ready to fight low levels of physical activity and that they are ready to do something to make positive change happen!
So how can you participate in the event? The coalition encourages each person to designate time to get outdoors and active on October 12th, 2008. Families and friends alike are encouraged to visit the hatchery, their local parks, take a walk or jog a trail, visit the lake and/or a pond and just get outdoors and get moving!
Wolf Creek National Fish Hatchery is proud to be a part of the Russell County Physical Activity/Wellness/Diabetes Coalition. For information on the Second Sunday Event or other programs at the hatchery, or how you can be involved as a volunteer, please contact Amanda Patrick, Environmental Education/Outreach Specialist, at 270-343-3797 or via email (Amanda_Patrick@fws.gov).
