Lady Laker volleyball gets back on track with wins

In Sept. 11-17 Issue

Coach Sarah Roy’s Lady Laker volleyball team participated in the Lexington Lafayette Volleyball Tournament this past weekend.

The ladies faced Grayson, Grant and Johnson-Central High Schools in the tourney.

Grayson County beat Russell County 25-12 and 25-10.

In the next round, Russell County beat Grant County 25-11 and 25-12 and in the third round, Russell County beat Johnson-Central 25-22 and 25-20.

The Lady Lakers also hosted the McCreary Central Lady Raiders last Thursday at Laker gym. In the freshmen match, Russell County beat McCreary Central 19-17 and 18-12.

The RCHS JV won their match by winning a 21-15 score in the first game, losing the second game 21-15 and then winning the third game, 21-13.

The varsity ladies won the first game 26-24, lost the second 25-18 and winning the final match, 25-21.
