The Russell County Grand Jury returned indictments against 13 individuals this month ranging from assault and burglary charges to marijuana charges, according to Russell Circuit Court.
Scottie Lynn Baird, 29, was charged with theft by deception over $300, theft by unlawful taking over $300 and with being a persistent felony offender.
Dawson Settle, 69, was charged with DUI 4th offense, operating a motor vehicle while license is suspended for DUI and reckless driving.
Bill Peterson, 42, is charged with first degree assault and with being a persistent felony offender.
Billy G. Brown, 37, was charged for tampering with physical evidence.
Bobby Gene Flatt, 41, was charged with third degree burglary, theft by unlawful taking over $300 and with being a persistent felony offender.
Bobby J. Roy, 57, was charged with four counts of theft by deception over $300.
James Henry Sutton, 37, was charged with flagrant non-support of a child.
Ryan Johnson, 24, was charged with two counts of DUI 4th offense, two counts of operating a motor vehicle while license is suspended for DUI, first degree wanton endangerment, tampering with physical evidence and two counts of being a persistent felony offender.
Jimmy K. Grider, 57, was charged with cultivating marijuana, a second offense.
Deanna Popplewell, 32, was charged with theft by unlawful taking over $300.
Victoria Daniel, 41, and Crystal Miller, 31, were charged with violating graves, a class D felony, for allegedly removing flowers placed on graves at the Russell Springs City Cemetery back in May. The offense carries a maximum penalty of 1 to 5 years in prison, if convicted.
Donald George, 48, was charged with 33 counts of possession of a forged instrument, 16 counts of theft by deception, three counts of burglary, three counts of theft by unlawful taking and three counts of being a persistent felony offender.
An indictment by the grand jury does not imply guilt but simply means that a jury felt there was enough evidence in the case to warrant a trial.
