RCMS Lakers win some, lose some

In Dec. 4 Issue

The Russell County Middle School Lakers have had an up and down week winning games against Larue County on Monday and falling at Clinton County on Tuesday.

The 7th grade Lakers defeated Larue 37-28 on Monday. The Lakers were led in scoring by Brenan Coffey with 10 points while Blake Ellis and Alex Turner both had seven a piece.

Coach Michael Carpenter’s 8th grade team defeated Larue County 50-28. Lucas Whittle had 13 points while Nick Britt had a dozen points.

Barton Mann and Jalen Bennett both chipped in with eight a piece.

On Tuesday night the RCMS teams fell at Clinton County. The 6th grade team, coached by Jason Foley and Nick Bertram, lost 35-30 while the 7th grade fell 55-26. Blake Ellis led the 7th grade with nine points.

The RCMS 8th graders fell to Clinton County, 56-39. The Lakers were led in scoring by Lucas Whittle with nine points followed closely by Barton Mann with 8 points.

The RCMS Lakers visit Green County on Thursday for games against the Dragons.
