In Dec. 11 IssueCoach Michael Carpenter’s Russell County Middle School Lakers have had another good week on the hardwood, winning games against Campbellsville, Green County and Metcalfe County.
Tuesday night, RCMS defeated Metcalfe 31-17 while the 8th grade won 45-13.
Both Alex Turner and Blake Ellis had six points apiece to lead the 7th grade. Lucas Whittle had 11 points to lead the 8th grade while both Barton Mann and Nick Britt had seven points apiece.
In the 7th grade game against Campbellsville this week, the Lakers came away with a 44-14 win. Blake Ellis scored 10 points while Josh Burchett had nine points. Brenan Coffey had five points while both Matt Adams and Alex Turner had four points apiece.
Cody Roberts scored three points while Trevor Robertson and Zach Wallace had two apiece. Ben Bertram scored five points in the game.
In the 8th grade game, the Lakers came away with a 57-26 victory with Lucas Whittle leading the way with 10 points. Nick Britt scored nine points while Barton Mann and Garret Stephens had eight points.
Jalen Bennett scored seven points while Dustin Pierce had five. Chris Burchett scored four while T.J. Pierce, Blake Ellis and Matt Adams all score two apiece. Last week the 7th graders fell to the Green County Dragons, 41-38.
Blake Ellis led the way with 13 points for the Lakers. Brett Kimbler, Matt Adams and Alex Turner each scored seven while Ben Bertram and Brenan Coffey had two points apiece.
The 8th grade Lakers faired better, winning 51-37. Nick Britt led the way with 12 points and Jalen Bennett scored 11. Barton Mann scored nine points while Lucas Whittle had seven points. Dustin Pierce had five, Garret Stephens had four and Chris Burchett had three points.
