Coach Willie Feldhaus' Lakers won an overtime thriller Tuesday night, 55-52, over Greenwood. The Lakers move to 13-1 on the year.
Senior Bryon Ellis hit two three pointers in overtime to give the Lakers late momentum and the game was sealed with Justice free throws late.
Bryson McFall hit a three in regulation to force the extra session.
“I don’t know how we won,” Feldhaus said. “But at least we expect to win now.”
He said his team did some things uncharacteristic of themselves to put them in a hole early.
Feldhaus called the McFall and Ellis 3-pointers huge since his team played behind much of the game. He said there were some missed opportunities in regulation that could have been taken advantage of.
Ellis led the Lakers with 23 points while Robbie Bell and 12 and Zach Carney had 11.
In Lady Laker action, Coach Craig Pippen's team went on the road and defeated Campbellsville, 52-40, to move to 9-2 on the season.
LeeAnn Grider scored 27 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for a double-double.
