ONLINE UPDATE-Jan. 9The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District Eight office announced
Friday that the construction operation of the Wolf Creek Dam will have
one lane closure with reduced speed beginning Monday, January 12.
District personnel will be reducing speed to 45 mph at milepoints 1.5
through 6.0 in the construction limits. The lane closure will only be
inside the construction zone on the dam from the 2.0 to 2.5 milemarker
and will last around four weeks.
The reduction of the speed limit to 45 mph is due to the ongoing construction and repair of the dam and will remain that way for the
length of the dam work.
There will be signage at the entrance to the
Grout Plant and the road crossing near the dam to make the public aware
of trucks entering the roadway, according to the transportation cabinet.
The closure is for the benefit of Weddle Construction, a subcontractor with the project, according to the cabinet.
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s District 8 office advises traffic to use caution, reduce speed, and to expect delays.
