Lakers hold football banquet

In Jan. 15 Issue

The 2008 Laker football team was honored Tuesday night at their annual end-of-the-season banquet at Lindsey Wilson College.

The program says goodbye to 14 seniors and many of their playmakers from both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball but Coach Bill Sharp said plans are already being made for the 2009 season.

Awards: Scout team-Zac Scott, Defensive Line-Codey Bell, Linebacker-Chandler McGowan, Defensive Back-Bryon Ellis, Offensive Back-Landon Meece, Offensive Line-Bryce Bailey, Receiver-Quinton Warriner, Earl Aaron-Cody Stephens, Coaches’-Chris Hammond and MVP-Bryon Ellis.

It was a somber banquet as Laker football player Luke Burton was memorialized. Burton passed away in Nov.
