In Feb. 12 IssueBoth the Lakers and Lady Laker basketball teams fell victim to defeat on Tuesday night in Barren County.
The Laker boys lost in double overtime, 60-58, while the Russell County girls were sent home with a 61-48 loss.
LeeAnn Grider led the 13-9 ladies with 14 points while the boys lost just their fourth game of the season.
Adam Justice led the Lakers in scoring with 17 points while Robbie Bell had 12 points.
The Lakers shot just 38 percent from the field and only 18 percent from 3-point land in the defeat.
The Lady Lakers also got a dozen points out of Julie Wethington in their loss.
On Monday night, the Lady Lakers traveled to nearby Green County and were defeated by the Lady Dragons 75-40. Coach Craig Pippen was ejected in the loss and Asst. Coach Kelly Kelsey coached Tuesday night in Barren County.
