In Feb. 19 IssueIf you are fortunate enough to have a job at this particular time, you can celebrate that you have just received a raise. You federal taxes were reduced this week by some eight to twelve dollars. This came as a part of the new stimulus project.
But, just don’t get to happy, because you can rest assured that some other taxes will be increased to take that and likely more. In fact, if you drink alcohol or smoke, you probably are already in the hole.
A new stimulus bill passed this week and there seems to be a just wait and see atmosphere as to what we can actually expect.
One thing that left us less than impressed this week was the fact our President had to travel to Denver to sign the stimulus bill. President Obama and his entire entourage cost the taxpayers thousands and thousands so they could fly on Air Force One for a photo moment in Denver, plus spending the night in some luxury resort. Then on Wednesday, Air Force One and the entire entourage was again in the air at a cost of thousands to sign a home owners bill in Arizona, in another photo session.
Could not these have been signed just as well at the White House?
We should not be too critical, any kid with a new toy wants some playtime. After all how many kids get Air Force One?
Speaking of the stimulus package. The race is on.
State after state and city after city are already submitting projects for funding under the new stimulus. So far, these are ranging from a few thousands for new dog houses to billions and billions. Cidra, Puerto Rico has so far submitted the most expensive proposal. They want to purchase and develop 100 acres into a energy efficient industrial zone at the mere cost of 17 billion.
If you wish to keep up with the various projects being proposed and submitted for funding you may do so at stimuluswatch.org.
Submitted projects are listed here by state and each city and each project is listed individually.
