In March 26 IssueBy Derek AaronTimes Journal Sports EditorFour Russell County Laker football seniors signed this week with Campbellsville University.
Seniors Bryce Bailey, Chandler McGowan, Cody McNeil and Landon Meece have all signed their letter of intents with the Tigers of the NAIA.
Present at the signings were the families of the players as well as Laker Head Coach Bill Sharp and Assistant Coach Brad Crowe.
The four seniors all agreed that proximity to home and a family feel of the Campbellsville team all attributed to their final decision.
The four seniors said that playing at Campbellsville would allow their families to come watch them play without having to go long distances.
The Lakers have also attended several camps at the university and have gotten a fell for the campus.
Campbellsville University is a private, comprehensive institution located in South Central Kentucky.
The chance of all four to play together for four more years also sparked the players’ interest in the Tiger program.
Founded in 1906, Campbellsville University is affiliated with the Kentucky Baptist Convention and has an enrollment of 2,601 students who represent 93 Kentucky counties, 27 states and 31 foreign nations.
