In April 11 IssueRussell County NewsPresident proclaims that there is “Arrogance” in the US!
If you haven’t heard, our President has recently stated to an audience in Europe that there has been arrogance in the United States. “In My Opinion” our President is confusing arrogance with good old fashion “American Pride”. I find this statement by President Obama to be very disappointing, especially since it was said to a predominately French audience. It seems that the French people keep forgetting that if it wasn’t for the United States, they would be speaking German. I lived in Germany and visited France in the early 70’s. Trust me, there is no love lost for the US in France. The same thing can now be said for Germany. It seems to be President Obama’s dream to model us like Europe, but I’m certain that he is going to soon realize that the folks here in the US are not going to let that happen. He went on to say that we don’t appreciate Europe’s leading role in the world. I understand that we need the nations of Europe to be our allies, but that’s it! To quote Karl Rove, “I think he (Obama) ought to get off the campaign trail and become President of the United States”.
Recently it was reported that a British school was teaching their kids as young as 11 to shout obscenities during a lesson in swearing. Expletives like the f-word and c-word were written on a blackboard while a teacher explained their meaning to 30 seventh graders. Good grief, we need to wake up from this nightmare and remind our elected officials that we are the leaders of the free world and we are not going to abandon our Nation’s Judah Christian values and beliefs.
Then there’s Afghanistan. We’re making great progress there. A law was just signed that gives Shiite men the legal right to rape their wives. So much for women’s rights! Oh, let’s not forget North Korea. They’ve been busy launching missiles around the world. Not to worry though, President Obama called for swift new United Nations sanctions against North Korea and the UN Security Council will be weighing possible ways of punishing them. I don’t know about you, but I feel better already! I believe the American people are starting to realize that our new President has a lot of work to do. It’s time to start being the President of the greatest country on earth and quit giving speeches. I believe the “Arrogant One” just might be living in the White House! Of course, that’s for you to decide.
May God bless…
