In My Opinion ... by Ron Phillips
In April 25 Issue
Russell County News

Tea Anyone! Over the past 10 days there has been lots of discussion about the Tea Parties that were held across our great nation.

I find it interesting how the mainstream media is treating this phenomenon. It’s ironic that they are reporting this as a few right wing conservatives, pushed by Fox News, that are protesting the policies of the Obama Administration.

These events have been well planned by people like us that are deeply disturbed by the poor leadership that is being provided by our Congress and Executive Branch of our government.  Normal thinking people realize business as usual practices that have become common place in our congress must stop!

It is important to realize that these demonstrations, which by the way are our constitutional right, are being largely attended by young people.

I think that is fantastic.  Democrats, Republicans, Independents and Libertarians are all feed up with the silliness that is going on in our government and they are speaking out!

I received an e-mail from a friend pointing out some of the great quotes made by…

“Great Orators of the Democratic Party”.

‘One man with courage makes a majority.’

- Andrew Jackson

‘The only thing we have to fear is fear itself.’

- Franklin D. Roosevelt

‘The buck stops here.’

- Harry S. Truman

‘Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country.’

- John F. Kennedy

Today’s Great Orators of the Democratic Party

‘It depends what your definition of ‘IS’ is?’’

‘That Obama - I would like to cut his N@#S off.’

- Jesse Jackson

‘Those rumors are false, I believe in the sanctity of marriage.’

- John Edwards

‘I invented the Internet’

- Al Gore

‘The next Person that tells me I’m not religious,  I’m going to shove my rosary  beads up their A@#.’

- Joe Biden

‘America  is—is no longer,  uh,  what it—it,  uh,  could be,  uh what it was once was...uh,  and I say to myself,  ‘uh,  I don’t want that future,  uh,  uh for my children.’

- Barack Obama

‘I have campaigned in all 57 states.

- Barack Obama

‘You don’t need God anymore, you have us democrats.’

- Nancy Pelosi (2006)

‘Paying taxes is voluntary.’

- Sen. Harry Reid

‘Bill is the greatest husband and father I know.  No one is more faithful, true, and honest than he.’

- Hillary Clinton (1998)

May God bless…
