In April 30 IssueSeveral houses and Wilson Funeral Home were vandalized this weekend with paint, according to Daniel Wilson, owner of the funeral home in Russell Springs.
"The back of the funeral home, where the heating and cooling units are, they threw paint all over it and down inside it," he said of the two juvenile vandals and one 19-year-old male vandal.
"They threw paint on the side of our blue van and the back door," he said. "Pretty much of a mess."
Wilson also said a vacant house on Roy Dr. was also vandalized with the paint as well.
He said Russell Springs Police Officer Chasity Shirley had apprehended the vandals and that the clean-up process had already begun.
"They were out here until 8 p.m. Sunday night," Wilson said. The three vandals returned Monday afternoon to finish cleaning up the mess.
Wilson said this was the first time the funeral home had been hit by vandals.
"I'd been gone since Friday and I came back (Sunday) and found out this happened," he said. "They sure messed things up."
"I don't understand why anyone would want to do this," he said. Wilson said surrounding neighbors heard the commotion and contacted the police on Saturday.
He said he has a year to press charges for the misdemeanors, which also included vandalizing a road sign.
"Chasity was here with them (on Sunday) from 4 p.m. till after 8 p.m., after she got off work," Wilson said.
