In May 7 IssueCoach Trent Tarter’s Russell County Lady Laker softball team won their third straight game last Thursday over district foe Clinton County, 4-2, at Lady Laker field.
The Lady Lakers managed to keep the Lady Dogs at bay as the game came to a conclusion.
In the junior varsity game, the Lady Lakers also won, defeating the Lady Dogs 12-2.
On Tuesday the Lady Lakers traveled to Somerset where they were upended in a close game, 3-1.
Despite the loss by the Russell County varsity, the Lady Laker junior varsity managed to put away Somerset and went on to win 13-1.
The Lady Lakers will next be in action on Thursday when they host district rival Metcalfe County at Lady Laker field in Russell Springs.
