In May 21 IssueAn elderly woman walked into the local country church. The friendly usher greeted her at the door and helped her up the flight of steps.
"Where would you like to sit?" he asked politely.
"The front row please," she answered.
"You really don't want to do that," the usher said. "The pastor is really boring."
"Do you happen to know who I am?" the woman inquired.
"No," he said.
"I'm the pastor's mother," she replied indignantly.
"Do you know who I am?" he asked.
"No," she said.
"Good," he answered, "Let me show you the front pew."

Gun Control
The Governor at a recent rural elementary school assembly in East Texas, asked the audience for total quiet.
Then, in the silence, he started to slowly clap his hands once every few seconds, holding the audience in total silence.
Then he said into the microphone, 'Children, every time I clap my hands together,
A child in America dies from gun violence.'
Then, little Richard Earl, with a proud East Texas draw pierced the quiet and said: ''Well, stop clapping!'

The picture below reminds me of several years ago when we were building a new house. We went to the house one morning to check things out and there in one corner of the kitchen was the water heater. It was already hooked-up and it was a big round water heater in the corner, next to the back door. When we questioned the plumber, he stated he thought it would be better there as it would take a lot less water to run to the kitchen and bath room than it would if it was in the utility room. The picture below shows a little problem with the commode and door. Must have been the same plumber, it was a lot easier to just notch out the door to go around the commode.
