In May 28 IssueLindsey Wilson College women’s golf junior Krista Burton, a native of Jamestown, has been named NAIA First Team All-American the NAIA announced on Friday.
Burton finished the season with a 76.68 scoring average over her 22 rounds during the 2008-09 season.
She captured six individual titles during the season and capped the season with a tie for 11th at the NAIA National Championships to earn all-tournament for the second time in her career.
Burton is one of 15 women to earn first team honors.
This season’s All-American honors is the third time she has been honored by the NAIA. Burton was First Team All-American in 2007 following her individual national championship and Honorable Mention All-American in 2008.
Burton helped the Blue Raiders to five tournament wins during the season and an eighth place finish at the national championships earlier this month.
