Russell County’s 15-year-old team won the east Kentucky state title last season as 14-year-olds and Coach Richard Bennett says his team comes into district play this season with a bullseye on their back.
“I beleive we’ve got a good shot,” he said. “We’re a year older and a lot bigger.”
All-Star Hunter Best said he believes the expectations are good for the team as they vie for the district title while Tyler Robertson said he knows all opposing teams will be gunning for the team that won state as 14-year-olds.
The 15-year-old Russell County team is coached by Richard Bennett, David Aaron and Josh Popplewell.
