In Aug. 20 IssueThe Lady Laker Golf team will once again be hosting the Kentucky Invitational Golf Tournament at Lakewood Country Club on August 22nd.
This tournament brings in some of the top high school teams in the state of Kentucky with a field of 115 participants along with their coaches, parents, family and friends.
Glasgow High School, the 2008 Kentucky State Champs, will be in the tournament along with 2007 State Champs West Jessamine.
The Lady Lakers won the team championship at last year’s tournament shooting a low score of 324.
The Lady Lakers are expected to fair well once again on their home course.
The Lady Laker Golf team would like to thank the sponsors for the 2009 KIT.
Community sponsorship makes it possible for the Lady Lakers to host this prestigious tournament each year, according to Lady Laker Coach Robin Rixon.
Along with the tournament come increases to the local economy through restaurants, gas stations, local hotels/motels, and more.
The title sponsors this year are First National Bank of Russell Springs and Lindsey Wilson College.
Covering the tournament with live broadcasts this year will be our community’s own ESPN Radio 1060.
