Lady Laker volleyball off to fast start

In Aug. 20 Issue

The Lady Laker Volleyball Freshman, JV and Varsity began their regular season play last week as they traveled to Southwestern in Pulaski County,

Freshman scores- RC-9 / SW-21 and RC-15 / SW-21

JV scores- RC—-8 / SW-21 and RC-7 / SW-21

Varsity scores- RC-12 / SW-25 and RC-9 / SW-25

The varsity then traveled over the weekend to the Apollo Tournament in Owensboro. The Lakers were matched with Marshall Co., Daviess Co., Logan Co., Hancock Co., and Franklin Simpson some of the toughest teams in the state.

Even though the Lakers won only one out five games it was a great experience to prepare them for the remaining season. They have been working very hard this summer in hopes of repeating their District 45 win of last season.

The team has several returning seniors and juniors who will step up to the seasons challenges for their coaches Sarah Roy and Kelly Pierce.

Good luck this week as you take on Monticello and Wayne County.
