In Aug. 20 IssueA health care reform without a new public plan!
Will we have new health care reform? Will health care reform become the signature of President Obama or will it be the downfall of President Obama.
We cannot remember a time that so many have become so involved in an issue. We have never seen a time when Senators and Representatives have encountered face to face opposition, as they are now at town hall meetings, and in such numbers.
We also cannot believe how the creditability of our national leaders has reached the point where most do not believe any thing they state or any promise they make.
We absolutely could not believe the statement of one Senator this week that he would vote for the health reform even if the majority of the people in his district were opposed to it. He further said that he knew what was best for them.
This gentleman, like so many of our officials in Washington, has apparently forgotten he is to serve the people not the opposite.
Our personal view is those in opposition to this hearty care reform are not just opposing the creation of another federal program monster, they do not know who to believe or how will we pay for it.
There are so many unknowns in this health plan that no one seems to be able to state jus what we can expect.
One situation that really irritates us is the statement from our President and others that so much of this can be paid for by eliminating waste in our present health care programs.
What are we waiting for? If there is that much waste and most of us will agree we suspect there is, start today stopping this waste. If President Obama and our leaders know about it, correct it. Who knows, we may not have to borrow another billion this week.
What about our seniors and their health care? We are hearing reports of all kinds, and this issue, is like all others, we do not know who to believe.
We have a real concern that anytime our government makes something better.....the great majority of us only receive something worse.
What are your thoughts on health care reform? What would you like to tell you Washington representatives? Share your thoughts with us.
