In Sept. 12 IssueRussell County NewsWhat have we done? As a nation, many are now coming to realize that there are many questions that need to be asked of our President and Congress! The hard truth is that we do not have anyone to blame, but ourselves for what is happening to our country today. The good news is that as Americans, we have a choice. There is a solid grassroots movement across this country to stop the nonsense.
The majority is now telling the Mr. Obama that we do not want his kind of change and his national healthcare system that will literally bankrupt our country. I received an e-mail from the Somerset Tea Party Coordinator, Matt Withrow which is quite interesting… The following is a list of statistics that will probably shock you! The question was NBA or NFL? 36 have been accused of spousal abuse. 7 have been arrested for fraud. 19 have been accused of writing bad checks. 117 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses. 3 have done time for assault. 71, repeat 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit. 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges. 8 have been arrested for shoplifting. 21 currently are defendants in lawsuits, and 84 have been arrested for drunk driving during the past year! Can you guess which organization this is, NBA or NFL? Well believe it or not, it isn’t either one! It's the 435 members of our United States Congress! The same group of Idiots that crank out hundreds of new laws each year designed to keep the rest of us in line.
Over the past year I have been praised and sometimes criticized for “My Opinion” articles, but the time for real change is now! I fully understand that our country wanted change, but like everything in life, we often realize after it is all said and done that what we had wasn’t so bad after all. I do know however that if we just set back and do nothing, nothing is what we will get! Please get involved and please continue to ask the hard questions! Please also remember that the Somerset Tea Party is today at Noon!
May God bless this great country!
