In Sept. 17 IssueThe Russell County Property Development Board discussed the upcoming groundbreaking for the new Russell County Judicial Center Monday evening.
Plans are for the shovel turning to take place at the site on September 28th at about 10 a.m.
“Everything is coming in within budget,” said Ryan Barrow of Ross Sinclair, the project bonding entity.
The removal of petroleum tanks from the construction site continues to spark problems with bills. At a previous meeting of the board bills from several companies had been presented, and were held until it could be ascertained exactly what each company was billing for.
All but one company was paid at this meeting. Danny Rose, with the Administrative office of the Courts recommended the delay saying that the company had presented two bills for the same work and they totaled different amounts.
Tony Kerr and Mickey Garner were nominated to discuss property line and easement issues with Bill Magruder of Duo County Telephone Cooperative.
The next regular meeting of the board was set for Oct. 12.
