The Russell County Middle School girls basketball teams hosted Hart and Taylor Counties last week.  

The 7th grade team beat Hart County 17 - 15.  The team was lead by Macey Johnson with 9 points and 12 rebounds.  Brittany Simpson added 4 points and 12 steals, Kelsey Simpson and Paige Ramage both had 2 points.

 Raven Helm contributed 5 steals and 5 assists.  The 7th grade team lost to Taylor County 42-25.  

The Lakers were lead by Macey Johnson with 10 points, Brittany Simpson had 6, Alyssa Bennett had 5 and Raven Helm had 4 points.  

Alyssa Bennett lead the team with 7 rebounds.

 The 8th grade team had 2 wins last week.  

They defeated Hart County 13 - 48 and Taylor County 46 - 25.  

In the Hart County game, the team was lead by Madison Loy with 14 points, Danielle Walters and Abigail Adams each had 9, Rachel McFall had 6, Baylee Hadley and Macey Johnson each had 4 and Makenzie Back had 2.  

The Lakers were lead by Baylee Hadley having 10 rebounds, Danielle Walters having 9 rebounds and Abigail Adams having 8 rebounds.  

In the Taylor County game, the team was lead by Abigail Adams with 14 points and 6 rebounds.  

Danielle Walters added 10 points, Baylee Hadley contributed 6 points, Madison Loy, Macey Johnson and Makenzie Back each had 4 points and Rachel McFall had 2.  

Danielle Walters also had the team high of 7 steals for the night.
