RC golfers competing at state

In Oct. 8 Issue

The boys’ state golf tournament got underway on Tuesday morning with the first group teeing off at 7 a.m.

At total of 52 groups will tee off on the first day of both the boys’ and girls’ tournaments. The Leachman/KHSAA Boys’ State Golf Tournament will conclude on Wednesday, Oct. 7. Following a practice round on Thursday, Oct. 8, the Leachman/KHSAA Girls’ State Tournament will be played on Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10

The Lady Laker Golf team and Laker Boy’s Golf Team would like to thank United Citizens Bank for a $200 donation to help off-set expenses this week as the boy’s and girl’s golf teams represent Russell County at the Kentucky State Tournament in Bowling Green, Kentucky.

Community support is essential in high school athletics.

“The generous donation from United Citizens Bank in Russell County came at the right time. We value the support of the community and a business that gives a monetary donation during this important time in the season is much appreciated. We would like to thank United Citizens Bank for the surprise donation to help us with our expenses as we continue post-season play at the state tournament,” coaches James and Robin Rixon said in a joint release.
