In Oct. 24 IssueRussell County News“Show me your friends and I’ll show you your future” Glenn Beck has stated many times that his mother used this phrase often. I believe most will have to agree that you are generally a product of your environment or to put it bluntly, who you hang out with!
The White House has been on a crusade lately to somehow inform the public that Fox News has been unfair to the Obama administration. In fact, Anita Dunn, a White House spokesperson said recently that Fox News is an arm of the Republican Party and pushes their right wing philosophies to its listeners.
It was stated that Fox News is not a true “News” organization like CNN. In case you missed it by watching the Network News or CNN, Ms. Dunn has been basically put in charge of watching Fox News for the White House. WOW, what a job!
Her mission is to seek and destroy Fox News. Now it is important to understand that Ms. Dunn has chosen interesting mentors to admire such as Mother Teresa (Good!) and Chairman Mao Tse-tung of the People Republic of China. She has stated recently in front of a class of graduating seniors that Mao was one of her 'favorite political philosopher' and there were important life lessons they could take from him.
Ms. Dunn went on to say “But the two people that I turn to most to basically deliver a simple point, which is, you're going to make choices. You're going to challenge. You're going to say, "Why not?" You're going to figure out how to do things that have never been done before. But, here's the deal: These are your choices; they are no one else's.”
That is an interesting perspective for an administration that support “Big Government” that will make your choices for you.
Ms. Dunn went on to say “In 1947, when Mao Tse-tung was being challenged within his own party on his plan to basically take China over, Chiang Kai-shek and the Nationalist Chinese held the cities, they had the army, they had the air force, they had everything on their side. And people said, "How can you win? How can you do this? How can you do this against all of the odds against you?" And Mao said, you know, "You fight your war, and I'll fight mine." And think about that for a second.” She continued by saying “You know, you don't have to accept the definition of how to do things, and you don't have to follow other people's choices and paths, OK? It is about your choices and your path. You fight your own war.”
Now wasn’t that an inspiring piece of advise for our young people to follow! Of course Ms. Dunn failed to mention that it has been estimated that Mao Tse-tung was responsible for killing over 70 million people. Mao himself was quoted by saying “if somebody's trying to commit suicide to get out of here, you go ahead. You don't stop them because, hey, with this kind of population, it's not like we can't spare a few!
It was often said that Ronald Reagan was a great man, largely because of the people he surrounded himself with. All I ask is that we consider that same premise for President Obama. Look at the people that he has surrounded himself with. If that doesn’t scare the hell out of you, then feel free to have some more Kool-Aid.
For those of you that do not quite understand my Kool-Aid reference, the Rev. Jim Jones from Lynn, Indiana founded Jonestown and convinced his followers to drink Grape Kool-Aid laced with arsenic. It was first reported that 409 parishioners were found dead in Guyana on November 21, 1978. The numbers reported later grew to over 900. Jones often referred to his organization as “Devine Socialism”.
I’m certainly not a spokes person for Fox News, but I believe that if you want to have the best possible chance of hearing the full story or news stories that are not going to be reported on the other networks, then take time to watch Fox News and learn.
May God Bless…
