In Nov. 12 Issue"I was going toward town he was coming down the road in my lane," Deputy Sheriff Tim Pierce said that was how his interaction with Michael Stewart began.
Though their cars didn't collide the two men, both armed, met after the deputy said Stewart plowed down numerous mail boxes and had gotten temporarily stuck in two other yards.
The chase took place on Hwy-80 about 9:30 Monday night and ended when Stewart's 2005 Tundra truck was wedged between two trees close to the city limits of Russell Springs.
The 46-year-old Stewart is from Somerset. Pierce said he sustained a fractured foot
Stewart was taken by the Russell County EMS to the Russell County Hospital and was cited for fleeing & evading police, driving under the influence, reckless driving and failure to wear a seat-belt.
Stewart was armed, having a permit to carry concealed that was not illegal, and he gave up his weapon without incident.
Pierce said he expects additional charges to come from the grand jury.
