In Dec. 3 IssueFrightening, truly frightening the way our society is changing minute by minute.
When we were in grade school, Christmas and other holidays were great times, anticipated times.
Christmas trees were a necessity, Christmas gifts were so anticipated and Christmas songs were enjoyed daily. We even had prayer.
Today, prayer is no longer a freedom and many other freedoms are no longer free and all taken away in the name of freedom.
We are more and more becoming a suppressed society and we all are just taking it as it comes, in the name of equality and freedom.
But, really!
School children in Philadelphia are no longer allowed to sing “Silent Night” and any other Christmas song that might be considered religious.
Even more surprising, parents of two students there filed suit in the Court of Appeal that their children were being denied their right to enjoy such songs and guess what? The Court of Appeals ruled the local school district had the authority to ban such Christmas activities and further stated..”times are changing.”
Washington State recently banned any Christmas displays in the capitol.
Is was stated the ban came following repeated objections from the atheist organization there.
Yes, times are changing.
But, how long will our society sit back, be quite and allow all these changes to happen.
Change needs to happen but the change needs to be directed under the same guidance as our founding fathers established years ago.
.......and they did not intend to ban a simple prayer or to stop school age children from singing Silent Night.
