In Dec. 5 IssueRussell County NewsEvery year the Governor’s Award goes to those officers who have made the most arrests for driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, this year Sheriff Larry Bennett announced it was Deputy Nick Bertram who earned that honor in his department.
“I’m proud of Nick and all the hard work he puts in,” Bennett said.
Bennett, who has won the award for the second year in a row said it wasn’t about awards, “It is about making the streets of Russell County safe.”
Russell Springs Police Chief Joseph M. Irvin said the officer honored this year from his department is Jeremy West.
In Jamestown the officer honored for the most DUI arrests was Lt. Tony King.
