Change we can believe in! In my opinion, 2010 will be a year for the kind of change we can believe in.
Thanks to our Congress and the Obama Administration, the American people are reading the Constitution of the United States and asking questions for the first time. The change that Mr. Obama promised us is in fact happening before our very eyes, but it’s not what the majority of the people where hoping for. Obama Care is closer than ever to becoming a reality and most of us who have heath care can look forward to our premiums doubling.
Of course, 98% of the programs benefits will not take effect until 2014, but the new taxes take effect almost immediately in 2010. If you think businesses and healthcare providers are going to absorb those additional costs, think again! The answers that Congress has been giving are not what the majority of Americans are wanting or hoping to hear. I feel certain that these bad decisions and the ridiculous spending will cause an upset across the country at the November polls. A large percentage of our Senators and Representatives have obviously forgotten who put them into office. Even the far left progressives are expressing their extreme disappointment in this health care travesty that is being rammed down our throats right now.
The National Debt is now at a record $12 Trillion dollars. There have been attempts to put this number into perspective before. A trillion one dollar bills, laid end to end would reach the sun or if you spend a dollar every second, it would take you 32,000 years to get it all spent.
We owe $12,000,000,000,000, but our government has already committed to spending $106 trillion. If you find it impossible to get your arms or your mind around these figures, join the club. One thing is abundantly clear, the present administration and congress does not have a clue what they are doing and it will once again be up to the average American to stop the madness and put this great nation back on track. It is time for us all to step up and be heard. The good news is bad legislation can be repealed and poor leaders can be replaced.
2010 will be a year for the kind of change we can all believe in. I’d like to close with a story that I found amusing and I hope you do too.
An ATF officer stopped at a farm in Kentucky, and talks with an old farmer. He tells the farmer, 'I need to inspect your farm for illegally grown drugs.’ The old farmer says, 'Okay, but please do not go into that field over there. ‘The ATF officer verbally explodes and says, 'Mister, I have the authority of the Federal Government with me.’ Reaching into his rear pants pocket, he removes his badge and proudly displays it to the farmer. 'See this badge? This badge means I am allowed to go wherever I wish...on any land. No questions asked or answers given. Have I made myself clear? Do you understand?' The old farmer politely nods , apologizes, and goes about his chores.
A short time later, the old farmer hears loud screams and sees the ATF officer running for his life, being chased closely by the farmer’s prize bull.
With every step the bull is gaining ground on the officer, and it seems likely that he'll get "horned" before he reaches safety.
The officer was clearly terrified and when he sees the farmer, he shouts ‘What should I do? The old farmer yells back at him and says..... 'Your badge! Show him your badge!!
I wish all of you a Happy New Year and thank you for your support.
May God bless…
